Barolo DOCG
100% Nebbiolo. Bussia in Monforte d’Alba is one of Barolo’s legendary cru vineyards, typically producing wines of great depth and power with great ageing potential. The estate has 5ha of vines (average of 30 years old) in Bussia with a south-southwest aspect. Clay, Helvetian limestone, calcareous sediments and a strong presence of iron characterises the soil. The winemaking is traditional with long natural ferments (around 40 days) followed by 6 months in steel to cohere, and then ageing in 35–50hl Slavonian casks for 30 months.
The 2008 Vintage produced sophisticated wines with all of the elements for significant gain in complexity & depth with ageing potential to 25 years. R&R
