Coda di Volpe

Coda di Volpe

Predominantly a blending variety widely grown in Campania, Coda di Volpe is perhaps best known as the principal component of Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco. Coda di Volpe means fox’s tail, and describes a curve to the end of the grape bunch that resembles the vulpine appendage. Intensely flavoured with good aromatic lift, it can sometimes lack for acidity, but in the volcanic soils of Irpinia and those surrounding Mt Vesuvius it excels.
