Sylvaner

Amongst what are seen as second tier grapes in Germany and other Germanic lands, Sylvaner stands as a beacon of hope and a spreader of doom. Without care, or with quantity aspirations, it is a vigorous producer of lacklustre and hollow wine. With care and careful crop management, Sylvaner is an excellent, transparent vehicle for terroir and a lithe interpreter of site.
