Falanghina

Falanghina

Although grown throughout the south, Falanghina is typically associated with Campania, performing especially well in its volcanic soils. Widely thought to be one of Italy’s oldest grapes, originating from Greece sometime BC, it is thought to have been used in the production of Falernian – the legendary wine of the Roman Empire. Falanghina is a distinctive white grape with apple, spice and tropical notes, and is typically medium weight with bright acidity.
