100% Prié Blanc. Distinct aromas of struck flint and slate, a trace of reduction underpins this impression with a wine that briefly suggests the Mosel, but in such a transparent and ephemeral way, perhaps more reflective of a wine from the primary rock of the Wachau. But this is distinctly Blanc de Morgex, and a wine of remarkable individual character: cool minerals, crisp apple and pear notes and startling purity. A rare bottling from a painfully small plot of vines - bottled in magnum only. R&R
