Barolo DOCG
100% Nebbiolo. Bussia in Monforte d’Alba is one of Barolo’s legendary cru vineyards, typically producing wines of great depth and power with great aging potential. The estate has 5ha of vines (average of 30 years old) in Bussia with a south-southwest aspect. Clay, Helvetian limestone, calcareous sediments and a strong presence of iron characterises the soil. The winemaking is traditional with long natural ferments (around 40 days) followed by 6 months in steel to cohere, and then ageing in 35–50hl Slavonian casks for 30 months.
The perfect vintage, ideal harvest conditions allowed Nebbiolo to fully ripen. An extraordinary balance between acidity, tannin, alcohol and extract. Proper structure for long term cellaring 25-40 years. R&R
