The Barturot vineyard, in Montelupo, is where the Ca’ Viola story begins. In the site and its old Dolcetto vines Beppe saw an opportunity to craft a singular expression evocative of place, but also in a way that would assert Dolcetto’s often underestimated pedigree. That first wine, from 1991, was lauded by Elio Altare and bottled and sold at his urging. The rest as they say… R&R
