Giacomo Fenocchio 'Bussia' Barolo 2010

$450.00 per unit (750ml)

Barolo DOCG

100% Nebbiolo. Bussia in Monforte d’Alba is one of Barolo’s legendary cru vineyards, typically producing wines of great depth and power with great aging potential. The estate has 5ha of vines (average of 30 years old) in Bussia with a south-southwest aspect. Clay, Helvetian limestone, calcareous sediments and a strong presence of iron characterises the soil. The winemaking is traditional with long natural ferments (around 40 days) followed by 6 months in steel to cohere, and then ageing in 35–50hl Slavonian casks for 30 months.

Outstanding result, a classic vintage with plenty of acidity, firm but ripe tannins & perfect balance. The wines are among the most fragrant and complex in years, with finesse. Long ageing 30 to 40 years. R&R
