One of the great sites in Serralunga, Margheria is a south-facing vineyard that is situated on the hill that stretches out beneath the historic castle of the village. The soils are calcareous with a strong presence of clay and tufaceous marl. 2004 – a great vintage – was the first year that Luigi Scavino dedicated this wine to traditional Slavonian casks, where it matured for 28 months. This is classic Serralunga with darkly hued spice, black fruits and assertive, mineral-laced structure. R&R
