Bricco Fiasco is Azelia’s emblematic cru, with the vines first planted by Luigi’s father, Lorenzo, in the 1940s. It was also the first cru to be bottled and identified as such, back in 1978. The vineyard is a relatively warm site in Castiglione Falletto, planted to a steep hill with white calcareous soils. This site typically expresses itself with an elegant fan of spice, floral and red fruit notes, with the palate characteristically unfurling with a mass of assertive but supple tannins. R&R
